The new Volcanic and Geological Museum of Wudalianchi UNESCO Global Geopark, China began construction in 2014. Until the end of 2016, the civil engineering work of 13,600 square meters has been finished.

In 2016, Harbin Yixuan Tendering Company Limited was invited to be responsible for tenders on the design of exhibition installation. And then this company organized three exhibition companies of legal qualification - Beijing Qingshang Building Decoration Engineering Company Limited, Suzhou Chuangjie Media Exhibition Limited, Tianjin Tianchuang Exhibition Company Limited to conduct exhibition scheme design. At last, Tianjin Tianchuang Exhibition Company Limited won the bidding.

Until now, Wudalianchi Administrative Committee has held two meetings for the exhibition scheme design. The general idea of exhibition is to present the change of Wudalianchi, volcano knowledge and local characteristics, so as to make the museum into the shining window of Wudalianchi, the class for volcano knowledge popularization, as well as the presence chamber for welcome guests from home and abroad. The exhibition installation work was planned to start in this March and finish some of the exhibition functions until the end of 2017.The new museum is planned to be open to visitors at the end of 2017.
