Wenpo is a lake formed by water gushing out from a collapsed lava plateau. It is actually a group of three lakes: Jingpo, Bipo and Lipo. It is 1,200 metres in total length and average water depth is 0.8 metre. There are 25 geo-sites including lava landscapes, lake scenery, upwelling springs, beautiful flora and Shilong River. Indeed, it is a natural bonsai garden.

Wenpo Lake has three incredible natural phenomena. The first is that springs never freeze even in extremely cold weather. While ground temperature drops to -40。C in winter, water temperature in the lake remains in a range of 7-14。C, with hot vapour rising from the surface. The second wonder is a high magnetic field in the lake district. This is the centre of the geopark's high magnetic field. The third is the multifarious lake sceneries that change and vary along the route.
